About DWB

Dharma Without Borders is a collective devoted to the sharing of the wisdom of the Buddha-dhama both within and outside the boundaries of tradition. It is based on sharing in the spirit of the Ri-me (non-sectarian) movement originally begun in Tibet in the 18th century but who's ideal is universal. We do not advocate a rejection of any tradition nor seek to promote an ideal collection of teachings.

This project exists with two main objects;

1) To promote knowledge of nonsectarian insight, compassion and history found in all dharma traditions.
2) To bring this insight and compassion into practical application in the modern world.

By contributing towards common knowledge of each others traditions and teachings, it's hoped this may help the flourishing of the "rime" (non-sectarian) spirit of Buddhism -exemplified by 18th century saint Jamyang Kyentse Wangpo- as dharma develops in the West.

The other main function of DWB is to explore ways that these ancient wisdom traditions can positively influence our busy modern lives in a variety of areas such as activism, ecology, social service as well as arts and media.

While based in Australia we welcome contributions near and far who share these aspirations. We are under no illusions as to the importance of this small effort but it is our wish that people who feel inspired may share this site and aspiration with others.

We wish to emphasise that Dharma Without Borders is not presenting an alternative to practice within genuine, traditional Buddhist lineages and Teachers, although anyone not familiar or affiliated with a particular tradition is welcome to participate. DWB is a place to explore bringing the essential qualities and varied flavours the Dharma has to offer, into engaging the world with the rime’ spirit of clarity, wisdom, compassion and diversity.

If you'd like something to be considered to post and have not been invited to do so, simply email it to: dharmawithoutborders@gmail.com

We hope this may be of some benefit to others and assist in some way to the harmonious integration of genuine dharma traditions in the west. DWB see's this expressed as an open attitude which we aspire to practice via meditation, reflection and actively engaging in our world.

Love
